Explore EDI-related tensions, perspectives and opportunities against an ever-changing backdrop.

Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies have been thrust into spotlight across North America. Although some organizations see EDI as a way of attracting talent and better reflecting the continent’s growing diversity, others are questioning its value, its impact and its long-term effectiveness.

Join us as two EDI experts examine the issue from several angles.

  • Murielle Chatelier, President of the Association des Québécois unis contre le racisme. She will bring an engaged perspective on how to approach EDI effectively without reducing people to labels. She is a tireless advocate of an approach that focuses on the individual and encourages active participation in change that goes beyond tokenism.
  • Tania Saba, PhD, CHRP (Fellow), the founder and holder of the BMO Chair in Diversity and Governance, and a full professor with the School of Industrial Relations at the Université de Montréal. She will address EDI in the workplace, along with the potential repercussions of the current backlash against employment equity in the U.S.

The event moderator will be Sébastien Arcand, a professor with HEC Montréal’s Department of Management and joint holder of a Research Chair in the Demolinguistic Situation and Language Policies in Quebec. The discussion will focus on:

  • The ethical and organizational foundations of EDI
  • The impacts of EDI policies on power dynamics, corporate culture and leadership
  • Emerging criticisms and adjustments that can be made to mitigate against rollbacks and cope with a shifting landscape.

Don’t miss this chance to network with your peers as we delve into this topical issue, and learn more about the important role that EDI can play in the growth and development of your organization.

Spaces are limited. Register now to reserve your spot. First come, first served.

Come hear what two top EDI experts have to say about the changing North American landscape, as they examine the foundations and criticisms of EDI policies and the opportunities that come with increased inclusion.
