Emmanuel Raufflet is a Professor of Management at HEC Montréal whose work lies at the intersection of social innovation, sustainability transitions, and the circular economy. Throughout his academic career, he has developed extensive expertise in how organizations navigate complex sustainability challenges, working closely with public institutions, businesses, and non-profit organizations. His research has explored a broad range of issues, including energy transition, social acceptance, sustainable development, and, more recently, the circular economy. He has also been a visiting professor at several universities and business schools internationally.
A prolific scholar and educator, Professor Raufflet has published and co-edited eight books and contributed more than 50 book chapters, 60 academic articles, and 40 teaching cases. For 15 years, he provided academic leadership to HEC Montréal’s graduate programs in management and sustainable development. He has held several leadership roles within Québec’s sustainability research ecosystem, including Academic Director of IEDDEC (Institute for the Environment, Sustainable Development and the Circular Economy) and Co-Chair of the Québec Circular Economy Research Network from 2021 to 2026. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Trottier Chair in Energy Transition, Participation and Governance.
