As the organizational risks related to climate change worsen, and the public increasingly demands a shift from words to action, companies need to transition to environmentally friendly business models.

This program will help you understand the issues around climate change and learn how to actively contribute to your organization’s socio-ecological transformation. By the end of the program, you will know how to identify opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and implement processes to improve environmental performance.

GOALS

  • Understand planetary boundaries and what these mean for organizations.
  • Learn the general principles of carbon neutrality as well as how to calculate GHG emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3).
  • Become familiar with regulatory frameworks, disclosure/reporting obligations, and voluntary certifications and programs (e.g., ISO standards, PAS 2060, science-based targets).
  • Understand how to read a carbon assessment report and identify potential areas of intervention.
  • Learn strategies for offsetting GHG emissions (e.g., mandatory and voluntary carbon markets, project selection criteria, decision-making processes).
  • Learn tools and strategic approaches to engage your team in the organizational transition to carbon neutrality (e.g., retrospective analysis techniques, future-proofing).

Anyone who wants to be an agent of environmental change within their organization, regardless of role or level.
