Tommy Tremblay

Partner, Langlois Avocats

Tommy Tremblay is a partner at Langlois Lawyers in Montreal. Mr. Tremblay practices in all aspects of commercial litigation, but more particularly in the areas of corporate governance (particularly with respect to directors' and officers' liability), competition law, securities and white-collar defense, including administrative investigations and interaction with regulatory bodies in these matters.

In this capacity, Me Tremblay advises directors and managers on good corporate governance, particularly with regard to their duties and obligations towards the various groups affected by their decisions (shareholders, creditors, employees, etc.) and the obligations imposed on them by law.

In addition, Me Tremblay advises companies and individuals on their obligations arising from the rules to prevent economic crime and ensure compliance with competition law standards. He represents them before the courts when charges are filed against them or their liability is at issue, both in criminal and civil proceedings (including class actions).

Me Tremblay also collaborates in the development of compliance programs through which companies can verify whether their employees and management members comply with statutory standards and exercise due diligence in various matters, particularly in competition law, prevention of fraud and corruption and lobbying.

He regularly assists clients with investigations by regulatory bodies and participates in the implementation of internal investigation protocols on behalf of clients who suspect employees or members of management of having committed irregularities (non-compliance with regulatory standards, fraud, etc.).

Me Tremblay pleads before various decision-making bodies, whether administrative tribunals, the Superior Court or the Quebec Court of Appeal.
