Hilary Pearson was the President of Philanthropic Foundations Canada, one of Canada’s leading national networks for grantmaking organizations, from 2001 to 2019. Now a consultant, she has published extensively on the topic of foundation philanthropy in Canada and is frequently asked to speak at conferences, roundtables and panel discussions.
She has a master’s degree in political economy from the University of Toronto and honorary doctorates from Carleton University, the University of New Brunswick and Mount Allison University. She was appointed to the Order of Canada in July 2018.
