Xavier Parent-Rocheleau is an Assistant Professor at the Department of HR Management and in charge of this specialization in the MSc in Management program. He has a PhD and an MSc in Human Resource Management (HRM) from UQAM, as well as a postdoctoral degree from Curtin University. He is also a member of the international observatory on the societal impacts of AI and digital technology (OBVIA). His areas of expertise include the digital transformation of work, managerial leadership, technologies and HRM.

Xavier Parent-Rocheleau was recognized by the editorial board of the Human Resource Management Review (HRMR) for his article “Algorithms as Work Designers: How Algorithmic Management Influences the Design of Jobs,” co-authored with Sharon K. Parker of Curtin University. The article received the 2022 Best Article Award.

The study examines the phenomenon of “algorithmic management,” which refers to the use of automated, algorithm-driven systems to perform personnel management functions traditionally carried out by humans.
