Bertrand Milot has more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, threat modelling, cyber crime monitoring and enterprise security governance. He has led a number of cyber investigations and overseen crisis management in response to serious cyber crime incidents, including global cyber attacks and ransom demands.
He is one of a handful of specialists qualified to perform a full battery of physical and technological barrier tests, which include comprehensive threat assessments. His risk analysis approach examines both physical and logical information security, as well as vulnerabilities with regard to people, processes and technologies. He utilizes his extensive understanding of emerging technologies (e.g., artificial technology, quantum encryption and blockchain architecture), cyber crime and the deep/dark Web to make organizations more cyber resilient.
He has worked in a wide variety of industries over the years: banks and financial markets in Europe and North America (TMX Group, Euroclear SA/NV , Desjardins, Laurentian Bank, Crédit Mutuel, BDC), consulting firms (KPMG and Richter), aerospace companies (Bombardier, Héroux-Devtek and CAE) and e-commerce platforms (Ardene, Dollarama, DAVIDsTEA, Dorel and Moose Knuckles).
He has taught at the University of Évry Paris-Sarclay, Polytechnique Montréal and ISACA, authored articles and delivered presentations about cloud-related security issues and crimes, the Internet of Things, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), smart cities and challenges involved in protecting personal and corporate data.
Among the certifications he has earned are CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, CRMP, CRMP-F, PCSM, CICA, C|BP, C|CISO, SCCISP, CIGE, CIMP and ISO 27001 LA.
