Explorer, science communicator, and climate envoy

Trained as a biologist, Jean Lemire is a renowned explorer and science communicator, best known for his missions aboard the sailing vessel Sedna IV. He has led numerous oceanographic scientific expeditions, including historic crossings of the Northwest Passage and a 430-day mission in Antarctica documenting the impacts of climate change on polar ecosystems.

Appointed Climate Change and Northern and Arctic Affairs Envoy by the Québec government in 2017, he represents Québec in various international forums, advocating for ambitious, science-based climate action. His films, writings and public engagements have received numerous distinctions and continue to raise awareness of critical environmental challenges.
