Régis Labeaume served as mayor of Québec City for 14 years. As seasoned in business as he is in politics, he has made his mark both in the natural resources sector, notably as the founder of the mining company Mazarin, and in the high-tech field, having worked at the Cité de l’optique and Innovatech Québec.

He was named Chevalier de l’Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur de la France and is a medal recipient of the National Assembly of Québec. He stands out for his passion for entrepreneurship and enjoys being involved in businesses and organizations working in the fields of culture, youth, and health, among other things.

An eloquent communicator, he contributes to the newspaper La Presse and makes regular appearances on several television and radio shows.

A sought-after panellist and speaker, he published his biography, Le code Labeaume – Confidences d’un maire de Québec, in 2025, in collaboration with journalist Karine Gagnon. This fall, he will be featured as the lead in the TV documentary and podcast project Qui veut encore faire de la politique? on Radio-Canada and OHdio.
