Joanie Coutu-Bellerose is a total compensation and talent management specialist who has honed her expertise in inclusive compensation over the years.

She earned her master’s degree in human resources management from HEC Montréal. She also completed the non-profit governance program at the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés and the governance essentials program for early-career corporate directors at the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations.

She is an active member of several boards, including those of the HEC Montréal Alumni Association and the HEC Montréal Foundation. She also serves on HEC Montréal’s Women in Philanthropy Committee as well as committees associated with Women in Governance (WiG) and the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.

In addition to lecturing on and conveying her passion about compensation management at HEC Montréal between 2019 and 2021, she has shared her strategies for increasing corporate diversity at a number of forums such as the annual conferences of Governance Professionals of Canada in 2021 and the Association de la retraite et des avantages sociaux du Québec in 2023. Her publishing credits include articles on inclusive compensation and a variety of other topics.
