Rémi Charpin is an associate professor at HEC Montréal, where he teaches courses in strategic procurement and operations management in the M.Sc. and MBA programs.

He has more than 10 years of experience in researching and managing political risk in businesses operating on a global scale and in dealing with the impacts of geopolitical tensions on worldwide supply chains. He has emphasized the importance of supplier sourcing strategies in reducing political risk for foreign businesses operating in China. His research has been published in a number of top academic journals, including the Journal of Operations Management, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, the International Journal of Production Economics and the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management

He has a PhD in business administration from Clemson University in South Carolina and has worked in supply chain management in the U.S. and China in a wide variety of industries including education, wine and electronics.
