A journalist for over 25 years, he has worked at all major Quebec daily newspapers, serving in turn as a reporter, parliamentary correspondent, columnist, and editor-in-chief. He is also the author of several essays, including Le mythe du Québec vert, Perdus sans la nature, and Et si la beauté rendait heureux.
A frequent speaker and long-time political analyst, François Cardinal is the recipient of the Judith-Jasmin Award and the Claude-Ryan Award, as well as several distinctions, including the President’s Award from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Blanche-Lemco-Van Ginkel Award from the Ordre des urbanistes du Québec, in recognition of his “significant contribution to the development of urban planning in Quebec.”
