Marie-Claude Bacon joined Metro Inc. in August 2003 as Senior Advisor, Corporate Affairs. In 2005, she was appointed Director, Communications and Corporate Affairs, then Senior Director in 2011. In 2018, she is appointed Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications.

Marie-Claude holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the Université de Montréal and has more than twenty years of experience in issues management, public affairs and internal communications, financial, labor relations, crisis and media relations. She is a communications professional, a pragmatic visionary, able to quickly identify sensitivities and issues to develop strategic plans to achieve business objectives. She is known for her leadership, surpassing herself, her autonomy and her ability to create alliances in support of business goals.

Her responsibilities at Metro Inc. have led her to contribute strategically to many issues. In addition, she is a member of the Environment Committee of Metro Inc. since 2005 and has led the development of the Corporate Responsibility approach and has been the executive leader responsible for Corporate Responsibility and its implementation throughout the company since 2009.

Previously, she held communications positions with various major corporations and public relations and communications agencies including Hydro-Québec, Bell Canada and the Everest Group. Marie-Claude is Chairman of the Board of Retail Council of Canada -Québec division, since 2017 and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Food Banks since 2020.
