Paul Sauvé joined Hydro-Québec in 2005, after working for many years with engineering consulting firms in the areas of health, safety and the environment. His specific expertise lies in the regulations and standards related to these three areas, as well as strategies for verifying sustainable development reports and annual GHG emissions, and corporate audit processes. He is a member of the standards development committee for CAN/BNQ 9700-700, Managing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Criteria.

Recently, Paul oversaw a project to ensure the compliance of Hydro-Québec’s Eastmain-1 development with the Hydropower Sustainability Standard, which led to Gold certification for the facility. Eastmain-1 was later also awarded the prestigious IHA Blue Planet Prize.
