Iwan Meier is Professor of Finance and holds the Chair in Sustainable Finance at HEC Montréal. Prior to joining HEC Montréal, he was Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) in Chicago, USA. He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Bern. His research interests focus on sustainable finance, mutual fund performance and corporate investment decisions. In recent years, in addition to conducting his research, Professor Meier helped develop courses on sustainable finance for the MBA, MSc and specialized graduate diploma (DESS) programs, as well as for executive education.
Iwan Meier is a member of the Retirement and Savings Institute (RSI), the Canadian Derivatives Institute (CDI) and the IDEOS (Social Impact Hub) of HEC Montréal. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the School’s actions and commitments in sustainable development, social responsibility and ethics, and of the HEC Montréal Pension Plan Committee, where he contributes his expertise in sustainable finance. He also holds the designation GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) and the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
