Mathieu Boucher

Senior Director – Relations with First Nations and Inuit, Hydro-Québec

Mathieu Boucher was appointed Senior Director – Relations with First Nations and Inuit in 2024. In this capacity, he oversees Hydro-Québec’s economic reconciliation with First Nations and Inuit—a key component of the company’s Action Plan 2035. He is also tasked with negotiating and executing agreements with Indigenous communities in connection with the company’s projects.

Since joining Hydro-Québec in 2001, Mr. Boucher has held several positions in which he’s had the opportunity to work closely with Indigenous peoples. For the past 20 years, he has headed the teams responsible for relations with First Nations and Inuit.

Mathieu Boucher holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in public administration from the École nationale d’administration publique. He sits on the Board of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business, whose mission is to promote and strengthen a prosperous Indigenous economy.
