As Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, Daniel Lamarre is in charge of strengthening existing partnerships and driving new growth projects.
Over the last two decades, in his role as President and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel helped build the organization and spearheaded its transformation into the global live entertainment leader that it is today.
Before joining Cirque du Soleil in January 2001, Daniel was President and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe TVA for almost four years. From 1984 to 1997, he worked with the National public relations firm, where he served as Executive Vice President and Senior Partner, then President. In 1981, he opened the first Montreal offices of Burson-Marsteller, the world’s largest public relations firm.
Daniel possesses an extraordinary talent for global business development. Guided by his heightened sensitivity and unifying leadership style, he has a knack for finding the right solutions and positive outcomes for all parties.
Throughout his career, he has been active in various charitable organizations, especially those benefiting arts and education, and served on a number of boards. He has three honorary doctorates from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Arts, McGill University’s Faculty of Law and the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018.
