Economist Louise Champoux-Paillé has two master’s degrees — one in business administration and one in museum studies — and her ASC (chartered director) designation. She has been a pioneer in the financial and professional services field throughout her career, has served on numerous boards and has been a tireless advocate for women in governance for over four decades. She was the founding president of the Bureau des services financiers, which would eventually become the Autorité des marchés financiers.

As a co-director of the Barry F. Lorenzetti Centre for Women in Entrepreneurship and Leadership, she is committed to making the centre a sustainable hub of expertise and research on female entrepreneurs and leaders. She currently sits on the boards of the CHU Sainte-Justine (vice-chair), the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec and Canada Post.

She is actively engaged in research on new trends in governance and diversity. For over 10 years, she has been a regular contributor to various digital and social media platforms dealing with governance issues, written for a number of magazines and blogged for Les Affaires on ESG and corporate social responsibility matters.

She is a member of the Order of Canada, a knight of the Ordre national du Québec and a fellow of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés. In 2023, the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés awarded her with the title of “ASC Émérite” (chartered director emeritus).
